Intro to Salmon Fishing with Troy Richardson

The Intro to Salmon Fishing Seminar will be hosted by professional guide and local fisherman Troy Richardson. It is designed especially for beginner to intermediate skill levels and will teach a number of important techniques / tactics to improve your salmon fishing on local rivers.

During the session Troy will cover the following topics:

– Overview of the 5 different species of salmon and proper identification

– Gear and Tackle selection for the following:
Bar Fishing
Spin Fishing
Jig Fishing
Drift Fishing

– How to read a river, basic wading techniques

– Techniques and timings to target salmon in various local rivers (Fraser, Stave, Harrison, Chilliwack/Vedder)

– How to cover / fish different types of water for different species

– Fish cleaning and care

– Question / answer period

This seminar will prepare you for the coming salmon season. Don’t miss out!!

Instructor: Troy Richardson

Troy Richardson was born and raised in Maple Ridge, BC. He is an avid fisherman and has been fishing the local waters for the past 30 years. Troy is the owner / operator of Richardson Guiding which provides angling opportunities for Sturgeon, Salmon, Steelhead and Trout. Troy is also a commercial pilot and has had the opportunity to travel and fish many places across Canada.
