This 4-week class is designed to introduce trout tyers to the world of Salmon and Steelhead fly tying. Learn proper techniques for tying New and Classic patterns for the Pacific Northwest.
Week 1: Intruder Tying. Learn fusion techniques to make creative Intruder flies. Tying effectively and minimizing waste is covered.
Week 2: We will teach you Tagging and Tinsel body techniques along with learning the Full Wing and Hair Wing Dressed Flies. Advanced palmering and ribbing techniques will also be touched on.
Week 3: Tubes Flies: Learn this growing trend and learn to tie quick and productive patterns for both fresh and Saltwater flies. The focus is on how to use the Pro Fisher Tube System.
Week 4: Learn the basic skills in the Art of Spey Flies. The foundation and proper techniques to get you started on this sought after style.
Dennis Gamboa from The Fly Box will be your Instructor for the Workshop. Dennis has been teaching fly tying classes for over 20 years all over the Lower s Mainland. His speciality is Saltwater flies from local waters to exotic destinations he is a Master of the art of commercial tying with over 25 years experience on his Regal Vise.
His creativity and design have earned him a spot on The Lagartun Pro Staff Team and he is also the newest Partridge Pro-TEAM Member to represent the West Coast of BC Canada. He is a contributing writer to Inspired Spaces, part of the Flymen Fishing Company Commercial Fly Tyers (CFT) Program and a Canadian Llama PRO-Tyer.
